Matthew has defended hist thesis "Experimental Design under Low Signal Conditions".
He will now leave us to work as a data scientist in the investment firm TrexQuant.
Farewell, Matthew!
Prof. Jon Schuller was a visiting scientist in our group during his postdoctoral fellowship in the Energy Frontier Research Center at Columbia University. Jon helped initiate and lead a collaborative research project between our group at Brown and the groups of Prof. Jie Shan at Case Western Reserve University and Prof. John Kymissis at Columbia University. The experiments that he performed at Brown with Sinan Karaveli helped demonstrate how energy-momentum spectroscopy can be used to characterize luminescent excitons in layered nanomaterials, such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and PTCDA.
Jon is currently an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). For more information about his nanophotonics research group, please visit the website for the Schuller Lab at UCSB.
