Matthew has defended hist thesis "Experimental Design under Low Signal Conditions".
He will now leave us to work as a data scientist in the investment firm TrexQuant.
Farewell, Matthew!
David thinks light is very practical but also very profound, and he has a prism by his window to remind him of this. He recently joined the group, and is trying to make sense of it all, and to find how he can best contribute to science, to which he swears by. He is currently studying stubborn background in spectroscopic measurements, and thinking how he could improve on seeing light emitted by quantum stuff. In his free time he reads as much sci-fi as time permits and collects as many light-related-paraphernalia as clicking online allows him. He got his Physics degree in the Colombian Andes, and began pursuing his PhD at Brown in 2015, may he catch it soon enough!
